David Staples develops new business opportunities with a focus on infrastructure and businesses in the sustainable “green economy” sector. Mr. Staples has been a leader in introducing Public Private Partnerships to Barbados and non-recourse project financing structures.

He has led efforts in the development of Renewable Energy, Water and Wastewater and Solid waste businesses. Additionally, he has play key roles in the development of Millennium Heights, Apes Hill, PriceSmart, the First Caribbean Headquarters at Warrens, the Spring Garden desalination plant and Sustainable Barbados Recycling Centre. David is also Chairman of Doyle Offshore Sails in St Philip and Concordia Manufacturing in the U.S.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, a Master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master’s degree from Harvard University. He has been resident in Barbados since 1983.

David is a very accomplished yacht helmsman having won many championships across the Caribbean and he is a devoted husband and father to his wife Nancey and their three children.
